Bishu Gets Heads Bumpin with Hali 2 Cali

Monstercat continues to supply Electronic Dance Music fans with what the kids would call bangers with Bishu’s new EP Hali 2 Cali. The six-track project is Bishu’s first with Monstercat and he definitely makes his presence felt with a catchy Trap-Futurebass sound.

Hali 2 Cali starts with an Anjulie assisted Trap song called “Control”, where her soothing vocal complements the smooth verses and horn dominated drop. There are other songs with guest vocals and they are both provided by singer Mister Blonde, on songs “Diamonds” and “Get To Know Me”, with the first of the two sounding like a Troyboi-esque Trap song with a powerful vocal from Blonde. The second of the two Mister Blonde tracks definitely defines as a Futurebass headbanger, and with a great build-up using intense synths and layered vocals, it is definitely a track to be heard.

The project closes out with standout Futurebass track “Way Up”, a song with a Hip Hop influenced Bishu vocal, full of swag raps and auto-tune, which makes it a diverse track. “Way Up” is my personal favourite because of how bumpin the drop is, the catchy synth melody paired with the simple, yet effective bassline and quick hi-hats makes it an absolute jam.

Overall, Hali 2 Cali is a great coming out party for Bishu, as he has released singles under Monstercat since 2015, so to have such a solid project that shows off his abilities so well is only going to help him. The EP is definitely a great listen and one where the skip button does not need to be pressed and we can expect to hear some more quality Futurebass & Trap anthems from Bishu soon. This bumped heavy.
