The Deathrace for Love tour brought Juice WRLD & Ski Mask the Slump God, as well as Warhol SS to the PNE Forum in Vancouver on April 25th, but the official after party at Fortune Sound Club hosted by Locals Only Events(Instagram/@localsonlyevents) DJ Scheme(Ski Mask’s official DJ) definitely kept the night moving.

Before Scheme got in the building it was time for a couple of local acts to show what they could do. Starting off was 8nino8(Instagram/@8nino8), a Vancouver rapper with a unique voice and really catchy delivery, he definitely set the tone for the night as his energy and stage presence was hard to miss. By having a hypeman with him and getting the audience participating he was able to keep everyone bumpin for his whole set, which closed out on top with his fire new release “Stomp!”.

One of Vancouver’s strongest young artist, Anklegod(Instagram/@anklegod), was next to the stage. Anklegod came out flying with crazy energy and really well-performed songs, including some from his 2018 EP ANKAVELI, which definitely got some participation from the audience. Ank also took the crowd for a surprise when he performed a song he had recorded that day, and even though he didn’t have the lyrics locked down(as expected) the song was really catchy and the crowd stayed hyped. The good news is Anklegod has more new music as his new EP ANKAVELI II is out now and is full of bangers.

After the openers finished up it was DJ Scheme’s turn to do his thing. He started off his set by keeping it lit with Uzi’s “That’s a Rack” which kept everyone buzzing, especially with the rumor that Ski Mask was showing up. At the end of the song, Scheme got on the mic and told the crowd he brought a couple of friends too, Ski Mask the Slump God and Warhol SS then jumped on stage and the crowd went absolutely crazy. Once the two of them got on stage, the set consisted of a solid mix of Trap songs where we got to see Ski and Warhol hit the “Whoah!” on more than one occasion.

One thing noted about DJ Scheme & Ski Mask the Slump God is that they do not forget their roots. As many know fellow Florida artist YNW Melly is currently behind bars and awaiting trial, so the tandem made sure to shout “Free Melvin” while bumpin Melly’s “Mixed Personalities”. The shoutout that meant the most to the two of them though was definitely the tribute to their fallen friend and fellow Florida native XXX Tentacion, where DJ Scheme played “Look At Me!” for everyone to sing loud, with Ski leading on the mic.

The show was so entertaining because the crowd was always involved, keeping the energy high, which was the most apparent when Ski Mask got on the mic again to perform his hit “Faucet Failure” in full, where everyone was singing. DJ Scheme also did a great job of entertaining by moving away from the booth from time to time to get to the front of the stage and interact with the crowd, filling his stage presence too. The set ended with a bang as we rode out “BabyWipe”, a quick and catchy Ski Mask song that sent everyone home bumpin.

Overall, the Deathrace for Love after party was a great night, as 8nino8 and Anklegod absolutely killed it, DJ Scheme played a great setlist, and to have Ski Mask the Slump God and Warhol SS show up was definitely a major bonus for the evening. This show BUMPED.
